*** The Lone Ranger character may be trademarked, whether or not the films are PD. A wild guess, but wasn't some old Shadow material (movies or TV) taken down for that reason? ***

Yes Thats a problem, The Shadow is very well guarded. I truly believe there are people whos sole job is looking for ?illegal? Shadow postings. I have shied away from The Lone Ranger simply because it is too unclear the status trademarks play in whether an item is PD or not. I know that superman is trademarked BUT there are alot of PD superman cartoons here. how does that work? The Lone ranger got removed from the otr group so I wouldnt hold hope on the tv series but I could be wildly wrong. I just dont know enough.

As an aside here Lum and Abner is a valid Trademark. I had to ask for permission ( after the owner caught me ) to use it for my website as long as I let it be known that it is a valid trademark.

Ganbachi, as Mike D. says it's kinda unsteady about the Ranger. I tried to upload, I haven't heard back yet or not if it went through.
